What a pleasant surprise last week to have Denis and Rose Jaycox stop in for a very short visit. They were on their way to visit family at Takysie. They have moved to Cecil Lake now where they make their home.

The second annual Grassy Plains Bluegrass country jamboree is behind us but the memories of this wonderful weekend will remain with us for as long time.

Sport fishing has long been part of Burns Lake's heritage and is a tradition that continues to today. Every year, both locals and visitors take advantage of the Lakes District's 3000 miles of fishing opportunity making it one of the greatest fishing destinations in British Columbia.

To take in the striking scenery of the Lakes District, put on a pair of comfortable hiking boots and head out on one of more than two dozen trails maintained by the Lakes Outdoor Recreation Society.
