The Fall Slammer Ball Tournament, a slo-pitch tournament, was held in Burns Lake earlier this month. Balls Deep was the winner, with Grassy Bay from Prince Rupert placing second and One Hit Wonders placing third.

Burns Lake residents brought home 10 medals from the 55 plus Games held in Vernon on Sept. 12-16. Athlete Sandra Barth said the event was “a great time and the weather was very good with only a bit of smoke.” Randy Miller won silver (golf); John Barth won gold, silver and bronze (track & field); Sandra Barth brought home two gold and two bronze medals (track & field); Karen Ritchey received gold (equestrian); and Paul and Doris Jean got bronze (crib).

Here are the winners: 1st Pauline Redwood - 10.910 lbs; 2nd Jenny McKee - 10.120 lbs; 3rd Christian Lobermayer - 10.080 lbs; 4th Sean Baumann - 9.840 lbs. Other winners included Rob Law, who won a trip to Pondosy; Don Zimmer, who won a kayak; Patrick Pelletier, who won a pressure washer; and Willow Fehr, who won a 40-inch TV.
